Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2026

These Terms govern use of the skooles.com website and, where no separate signed agreement is in place, the SKOOLES platform and applications. If your institution has signed a written subscription agreement with us, that agreement prevails over these Terms where the two conflict.

1. Who these Terms are with

The SKOOLES platform is provided by SKOOLES, based in Tripoli, Lebanon. References to we, us and our mean SKOOLES. References to you mean the institution that subscribes to the service and, where relevant, the individual users it authorises.

2. The service

SKOOLES is a multi-tenant education platform comprising SKOOLES Web, SkooHub, SkooBook and SkooNet. Which modules are available to you depends on your subscription. We may add, change or withdraw features; where a change materially reduces functionality you rely on, we will give reasonable notice.

3. Accounts and access

  • Institutions are responsible for creating, managing and revoking their users’ accounts, and for the accuracy of the data they enter.
  • Credentials must not be shared. You must notify us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.
  • You are responsible for activity carried out under accounts in your tenant.
  • We may suspend access where necessary to protect the platform or other customers, and will tell you why.

4. Acceptable use

Use of the platform is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

5. Your data

You retain all rights in the data you and your users put into the platform. We process it only to provide and support the service, on your instructions, as set out in our Data Processing Agreement and Privacy Policy. We do not sell your data, and we do not use student data to train third-party AI models.

You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and enter the personal data you place in the platform, and for informing the people concerned as required by law.

6. Availability and support

We aim to keep the service available and to restore it promptly after any interruption. Planned maintenance is scheduled outside teaching hours where practicable and announced in advance. Specific availability commitments, if any, are set out in your subscription agreement. The applications are designed to keep working offline, so a service interruption does not stop attendance, agenda or course access on already synchronised devices.

7. Fees

Fees, billing period and renewal terms are set out in your order or subscription agreement. Unless that document says otherwise, fees are payable in advance and are non-refundable for the period already started. We will give at least 60 days notice before a price change takes effect at renewal.

8. Intellectual property

We own the platform, its software, design and documentation. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it during your subscription, for your own educational purposes. You may not copy, reverse engineer, resell or create derivative works from the platform except where the law expressly permits it.

9. Third-party services

The platform relies on third-party infrastructure listed on our Sub-processors page. We remain responsible to you for their performance of the services they provide on our behalf.

10. AI features

Some features use artificial intelligence, including translation, content assistance and analytics. AI output can be wrong or incomplete. It is provided to support the judgement of teachers and administrators, not to replace it. Decisions that significantly affect a student must involve a human reviewer. Do not rely on AI output as the sole basis for an academic, disciplinary or safeguarding decision.

11. Warranties and liability

We provide the service with reasonable skill and care. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data that you could have avoided by using the export and backup facilities we provide. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Where liability is capped, the cap is the fees you paid in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

12. Term and termination

Either party may terminate for material breach that is not remedied within 30 days of written notice. On termination you have 30 days to export your data, after which we delete it as described in our Privacy Policy. We may terminate immediately where continued provision would breach the law or create serious risk to other customers.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here and update the date above. For changes that materially affect your rights we will give at least 30 days notice before they take effect.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, and the courts of Beirut have jurisdiction, unless your subscription agreement specifies otherwise or mandatory local law in your country gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
