SKOOLES is used by students with a wide range of needs. Accessibility is a requirement of the product, not an optional extra, and this statement describes where we are today, honestly.
Standard we work to
We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at level AA for skooles.com, the SKOOLES Web dashboard and the mobile applications.
What is in place
- Full Arabic and English interfaces, including correct right-to-left layout for Arabic across the applications.
- Language can be changed at any point, including before sign-in.
- Text content scales with the operating system font size setting.
- Interactive elements are reachable by keyboard in the web dashboard.
- Colour is not used as the only means of conveying status; sync and attendance states are also labelled in text.
Known limitations
We are aware of these gaps and are working on them:
- We have not yet completed a colour contrast audit of the SKOOLES Web dashboard against the AA threshold.
- Colour contrast on a small number of interface elements has not yet been verified against the AA threshold.
- We have not yet completed a full screen reader audit of the mobile applications.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on our website or in our apps is difficult or impossible for you to use, email [email protected] with the subject line Accessibility. Describe what you were trying to do and what got in the way. We aim to respond within five working days, and we will tell you either how to work around the problem now or when we expect to fix it.
Alternative access
If you cannot access information through our website or apps, your institution can provide it to you directly, and we will support them in doing so.
